Goo Engine shader:This is a collection of NPR toon shading node setups for Blender Goo Engine 4.1 & NPR Prototype 4.4.1

NEW: Full setup for the Blender NPR Protoype, highly experimental, but provides new features and better quality.

The NPR Prototype is based on Blender 4.4.1 . However, it seems to get discontinued now so use it at your own risk.

The core shader is now based on the Principled BSDF with some additions and you can use the NPR node tree with any BSDF, if you like. Shadow colors are taken from the underlying surface, painterly normals system included, hair see-through effect works, shader on line art is supported, new compositor setup can modify the line art ,and more stuff.

Self-shadows can't get filtered out so face shading may look worse than before.

For the hair see-through effect, add a shader AOV with the name 'Refraction' to the eyes, eyelids and eyebrows. Enable Raytraced Refraction on the hair.


Goo Engine shader:

The shader can be used for both character shading and general object shading, providing sharp, smooth or bumpy surface lighting effects. It's compatible with the textures and lightmaps used by Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero from HoYoverse.

The goal was to get a versatile toon shader for EEVEE than can react well to lighting and is easy to use. You can make some beautiful procedural materials with this, too. Requires Goo Engine 4.1 for the essential shading which can be replaced by vanilla Blender nodes with some effort and a small loss of functionality.
